Staying at Baywatch

Baywatch Retreat is a registered guesthouse — not a hotel, not a resort.  The rooms are comfortable, recently renovated, and well looked after. Most rooms use shared bathrooms. Two have private ensuites.  The shared spaces — kitchen, dining room, lounge, balcony, outdoor areas — are where the property earns its reviews.

Room Types

There are 5 types of Rooms offered at Baywatch Retreat.  Starting from Deluxe Queen Rooms with Ensuites; Executive Suites that have a King Bed and Sofa Bed; Deluxe King Room, Family & Connected Rooms, Standard Queen Rooms with Single and Double Beds.

Ensuite Room

Deluxe Rooms with Ensuite

Upper floor. Private ensuite with modern vanity, shower, and toilet. Comfortable bed, sitting area, and private balcony access with sweeping views of the Blackwood River, Augusta Inlet, and ocean. 

Studio Room

Executive / Studio Rooms

Upper level. Garden and Ocean Views.  King bed with fold-out sofa (sleeps up to 4 - costs apply). Dedicated table space. Shared bathroom.  Best for couples, families, solo travellers, longer stays, or business guests.

Standard Rooms

Deluxe King Room

Located on the Ground Level, this room has a King Bed and Larger Room size.  Best for elderly, wheelchair and longer stays.  The room has ground floor access and close to Shared Bathrooms and Disability toilet.

Group Room

Group or Family Rooms

Upper floor. There are 2 Rooms that have a joining hallway.  Both Rooms have Garden Views over the Upper Balcony.  There are no bathrooms in these rooms and both have King Beds that can be split into singles.  A Sofa Bed can also be added to these rooms.

Standard Room

Standard Queen

Standard Queen or twin configuration across upper and lower levels. These rooms have either; Garden, courtyard and ocean views. Shared bathroom. Best suited to short stays, singles, and pairs.

All rooms can access the Front Garden Area that has table seating, the Upstairs Balcony Area with views across the blackwood river, table and chairs, a BBQ Alfresco Courtyard Area is also accessable.

Kitchen

A fully equipped communal kitchen with multiple fridges, ovens, cooktops, cookware, and serving essentials. Set up for anything from a quick breakfast to cooking a group meal with local produce.

Dining Room

Dining Room

A spacious indoor dining area with long shared tables — room for the whole house to sit down together. Light breakfast is served here each morning and all day bean to cup coffee machine using local brewed coffee beans.

Bathrooms

Two rooms have private ensuites. All other rooms share male and female communal bathrooms, each with two showers and two toilets. A disability-accessible bathroom and two additional upstairs toilets are also available which are refreshed daily.

Balcony

Balcony & Outdoor Areas

 Ground-level outdoor tables and seating in the garden courtyard — or the option for morning coffee, evening drinks, or outdoor meals on the main balcony.

BBQ Courtyard

BBQ & Courtyard

An outdoor BBQ setup in the courtyard with seating for casual group dining. Bring your own provisions or pick up local produce from Augusta's shops and the Margaret River region.

A comfortable communal lounge with ample seating and free wifi. A place to wind down, spread out, or bring a group together for an informal session.

Is there Wi-Fi?

High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property at no extra charge — in rooms, shared areas, and outdoor spaces.

Is there parking?

Free onsite parking is available for guest parking at the bottom and front of the building.  No booking required — just pull in on arrival.  For trailers, and minibuses please contact us for advice.  

Is breakfast included?

A Light Breakfast is included with every stay and served in the dining area each morning. No need to pre-order.  Cereal, Toast, Yoghurts, Tea & Coffee, Seasonal Fruit are available from 7.30am to 10.30am daily.

Can I use the kitchen?

The shared kitchen is fully equipped with fridges, ovens, cooktops, cookware, and essentials for anything from a quick breakfast to a group meal using local Augusta or Margaret River produce. Use is at your own risk and subject to our Terms & Conditions. Guests are responsible for safe food preparation, and any damage from improper use and equipment damage due to misues will be charged.

Where do guests eat?

The indoor dining area has long shared tables that can seat up to 30 guests. An outdoor garden courtyard is also available for meals, and BBQ facilities are set up in the outdoor area for guest use that has capacity seating of approximately 12 guests.  If you are a large group and require a specific guest seating arrangements; please don't hesitate to contact us to organise to accommodate your booking.

Are the bathrooms shared?

Two rooms have private ensuites (rooms 5 & 6). All other rooms share male and female bathrooms, each with two showers and two toilets. A disability-accessible bathroom and two additional upstairs toilets are also available. All shared bathrooms are cleaned daily and consistently rated highly by guests for cleanliness.

What time can I check in and out?

Check-in is from 3.30pm–5.30pm—please advise your arrival time if outside these hours.  Late arrivals are accommodated with your room unlocked and key inside. Check-out is by 10.30am; please return your key to reception or leave in the room with door locked - a lost key will be charged to the guest. Late check-out may be available on request—contact us in advance to arrange.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations 21 or more days before arrival receive a full refund. Between 7 and 14 days, 50% of the booking is charged which is non-refundable. Less than 7 days before arrival or no-show, the full booking amount is charged with no refund.  See our terms & Conditions for more information. Can I bring children?

Children are welcome in private rooms that can accommodate extra guest - usually on the sofa or fold-out beds. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 21 or over. We do restrict Children under the age of 3.  Guests aged 17 staying without a parent require a written letter from a parent or legal guardian.   See our Terms and Conditions for more information.

Can I consume Alcohol onsite?

Alcohol may be enjoyed responsibly on site. We ask all guests to be respectful of others—excessive noise, antisocial behaviour, or intoxication will not be tolerated. This is a non-smoking property; smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises.

Are there Local Eateries and Tourist Sites close?

Augusta and the wider Margaret River region offer a great mix of relaxed eateries, wineries, and natural attractions. There are eateries in Augusta - check opening times.  Local sites can include: Hamelin Bay to see the stingrays, Local Caves and Vineyards, local beaches, the inlet and nearby Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse.  Whales when in season can be viewed off the local beaches.

What's in the Rooms?

Each room includes a bar fridge, kettle, milk, tea and coffee, bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer, fresh linen, towels, and face washers, along with heating and a fan can be provided upon request.  Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. All bathrooms are stocked with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, with essentials thoughtfully provided for your convenience.
