About Us
Welcome to Baywatch Retreat
Your Beach House Escape for the South West WA
Originally built in 1995 as a backpackers’ lodge, Baywatch Retreat has a long-standing connection to travellers seeking adventure and simplicity in the heart of Augusta. Over the years, it transformed into a boarding house, and today proudly operates as a registered guesthouse offering a casual and welcoming home-away-from-home atmosphere.
In 2024, Baywatch Retreat entered a new chapter under fresh local ownership, and has since undergone extensive renovations completed in December 2024. While the charm and soul of the original structure remain, the interiors and amenities now reflect a breezy, contemporary beach house-chic style — laid-back, light-filled, and designed for connection.
Guests are invited to self check-in, settle in with ease, and treat the place like their very own beach retreat. With shared communal spaces, cosy nooks, and stylishly updated rooms, Baywatch is not just a place to sleep — it’s a base to slow down, explore, and truly belong.
Nestled in a tranquil corner of Augusta, and just minutes from the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, Margaret River wine region, and pristine Western Australian coastline, Baywatch Retreat is the ideal launchpad for your South West adventure. Many find it an even better base than Margaret River itself — without the crowds, and with direct access to nature, culture, and relaxation.
Whether you're staying one night or three, we recommend at least two nights to soak up the serenity, explore the surrounds, and reconnect with yourself, your partner, or your family.
